It would appear that our wonderful .M.P., running strictly true to form, has, today, chosen to vote to deny free school meals to some of the poorest in our society. Hopefully some people might remember that come next election time.

This is going to cause no end of expensive bureaucratic nightmare for benefit departments and schools. "Cost saving" is all smoke and mirrors

Is anyone actually surprised by this? She's a thoroughbred Tory. With them it's always Me first. Me second. Anything left, me again and f*** the poor.

@Mavis. Vote for a party that will insist that employers pay a wage people can live off and this and many issues will be much reduced.

@bored - wont giving low paid staff a pay rise put costs up, so people will have to be paid more to live, so costs will go up more, etc etc etc?

If she wants to cut the budget she could start with lowering her own salary. Oh no, wait, it makes much more sense to deprive poor children of food. God I hate politicians.

Remedial spelling classes wouldn't cost you too much, Jill.

Funny how Tories never come up with a defence of the Tories, they just attack Labour.

Everyone, employed or on benefits should be able to afford the upbringing of 2 offspring. Its about prioritising your monies, limit unnecessary spending, ie: cigarettes, alcohol, takeaways. Wear an extra layer in winter and turn the thermostat down. All simple savings achievable by anyone.

@ "Maria Coalheap"- Our MP has her salary fixed by Parliament, as do all the members from other parties. There is no job security, as they can all be voted out at the next general election. Unlike senior civil servants on comparable salaries who have secure jobs for life.
Maria Caulfield is actually a good hard-working MP. And she is contactable- if you can use this forum, you can google her. What's the alternative? A dying Liberal party of old people whose young candidate has disappeard since being accused of not paying her Council tax; or a local party of young socialists who think that diversity and Corbyn's money tree will create a paradise.

Not true. If you do the sums you'll see the difficulty. Give it a try...

Sure. Also Teresa May is really Elvis in drag and Brighton will win the Champions League.
