We are the social centre for the older community in Lewes and surrounding areas. We offer lunches, a variety of activities and occasional outings.

Anthroposophical painting @ The Art Studio, 15 Malling Street
This is a therapeutic painting group for adults that follows the teachings of Dr Hauschka and Rudolf Steiner, whose theories and philosophies explored the healing properties of colour.

Through working with the colour spectrum in water-colours, subtle imbalances are addressed. This approach is ideal for those wishing to improve their general well being in a gentle and nurturing way.

Joy of Movement - holistic dance and movement for health @ Cliffe hall
A gently guided class combining simple, flowing and easy to follow dance and mindful movement for women of all ages, fitness levels and experience. Enjoy an hour of breathing, gentle stretching and simply guided, easy to follow movement to some uplifting and inspiring music. Our class is low impact and we focus more on body sensation and feeling good than cardio fitness, though we do get fit in the process! Participants are guided to follow their own energy output. All classes end with mindful breathing and a meditative seated or lying down reflection time. We especially welcome people who haven't moved in a long time, or 'ever' in a class situation as we are a friendly group of a broad range of ages who just love to dance with no worries of 'getting it right’.

Weekly calligraphy classes, starting Tuesday 14 April 2015, 10.30am - 12.30pm, Cliffe Hall, Cliffe High Street, BN7 2AH. Mixed ability and absolute beginners are very welcome. £15 per session payable termly in advance. Small class sizes so book early to avoid disappointment.

Adult Ballet @ All Saints Centre

You don't need any previous experience at all and you don't need ballet shoes, just a pair of thick socks and lots of enthusiasm! People enjoy ballet due to improvements in memory, posture and balance as well as the obvious fitness benefits. The classes are all weight bearing which is a recommended way of exercising to reduce your chances of osteoporosis and they are generally low impact.
Claire is an A.I.S.T.D qualified ballet teacher with many years of teaching experience who has adapted the classic ballet class. This enables almost anyone, whatever their age, fitness or previous injury history to enjoy the class.

We are a relaxed, informal, friendly and inclusive group of all ages and experience. Our approach to inner peace and wellbeing is practical, easy to follow, and enjoyable. For children in years 3-6 at junior school, this class focuses on performance and technical skills in the style of contemporary dance. Your child will develop strength, flexibility, confidence and creativity as well as take part in annual performances with Universal Dance. Dare I say it - Yoga is a fashionable way to take care of yourself these days with celebrity yogis adding appeal to young people. Yoga is a fitness activity accessible to all and starting young can influence healthy lifestyle choices. Benefits include: improving posture, reducing anxiety and helping young people to relax and form better sleeping patterns. Tamsin has 20 years experience working within schools and FE and is keen to bring yoga to the next generation. The classes find a good balance between being challenging, dynamic and fun and giving time and space to unwind.

Yang Style Tai Chi Class @ Lewes New School
Fun and friendly Tai Chi class suitable for complete beginners and those who have studied Tai Chi before! First class is free for all students, so come along and see if this is the class for you!

In this class we teach key principles, warm ups, gentle stretching and a short taiji form that can be practiced anywhere. You will be exploring your own body structure, posture, connections and more as we work through the moves of the form - deepening your study.

Also on Tuesday nights - Qigong for Health class 8.15-9.15pm

Classes cost £30 per month, discounts available for joining both classes, and for concessions.

The Group is a club for unattached men and women, who tend to be aged 50+. We meet in Lewes on the 1st Tuesday, Burgess Hill on the 2nd Monday, Brighton 3rd Tuesday and Horsham on the 1st Monday.

All levels are welcome to join this Qigong class!

We will be working through a set of 5 Element Qigong as well as other stretching, loosening and opening exercises.

The perfect way to relax, move with natural aligment for better structure and more mindful posture.

Our classes are fun, friendly and interactive. You're very welcome to come along to your first class as our guest before signing up.

Also on Tuesday nights is our Beginners Tai Chi from 19.15-20.15.

£30 a month for 1 class per week, £55 for 2 classes per week.
